After
the First World War, the kings and emperors were gone from Europe. Communism
flourished where czars once ruled, and the blasted soil of the continent
would soon nourish the rise of facism and, eventually, a new world war.
"A Forgotten War" is a two-hour examination of the songs, journals,
and personal reminisces of those who stood witness to the horrors of the
First World War, produced by TJ Starr over 15 years ago.
Based on Gene Smith's remarkable essay Still Quiet
on the Western Front, and featuring the voice talents of Gerald
Normi, Brian Weitz, Elizabeth McNamer,
Randall Rocks, Hal Hansen, Nancy
O'Leary, and Marvin Granger, "A Forgotten
War" has become a YPR tradition in honoring Veterans Day.
