Fifty years ago this year, a young WFMT announcer named Mike Nichols (yes, that Mike Nichols) started a weekly program of folk music. His idea caught on and the program has been a WFMT success story for young and older listeners alike. In recent years, Rich Warren has produced the show. Nichols recently received a lifetime achievement award for his work as a stage and film director.
