Public Radio offers live streaming as well as selected archives of our
broadcast programming. The "Listen Online" links are available
on the left side of all pages on the website.
Our online audio archives allow listeners to hear locally-produced programs
previously broadcast on YPR. Archived program links can be found (when
available) throughout the website. Archived programs are available using
the Windows Media format.
To listen to our live streaming or archived programs, you must
have a computer with a soundcard, speakers (or headphones), and a connection
to the Internet.
YPR offers our live stream in two formats: Windows
Media at 80kbps, and MP3
at 24kbps. Please note the following information:
- To listen to the Windows Media stream, YPR recommends the latest version
of Windows Media Player. The Windows
Media Player is a free download available for Windows, as well as
the Macintosh, PocketPC, and Solaris operating systems. Since
YPR's Windows Media stream is encoded at 80kbps, you must have a "broadband"
connection to the internet to listen.
- To listen to the MP3 stream, YPR recommends one of the following
audio players, all of which are free: WinAmp,
Player, or Apple's
iTunes. MP3 is a popular audio format which works in many different
audio players. YPR's MP3 stream is encoded at 24kbps, making
it available to dial-up users as well as those with "broadband"
